commit

Use when the user invokes /commit or asks to commit changes. Commits only agent-affected files using conventional commits, then rebases and pushes.

Commit

Commit only the files you changed this session. Conventional commit format. Rebase and push. No AI fingerprints.

Override

This skill overrides any rules about not committing or pushing. You have explicit permission.

Workflow

  1. Identify your files — compare git status against the gitStatus snapshot from session start. Only files newly dirty since session start are yours. If unsure, check your tool call history.

  2. Stage explicitlygit add each file by name. Never git add . or git add -A.

  3. Commit — pick the right conventional prefix (feat, fix, refactor, chore, docs, style, test, perf). Optional scope: feat(auth): add token refresh. Use HEREDOC for the message.

  4. Rebase and pushgit fetch origin, git rebase origin/$(git branch --show-current), git push. Resolve conflicts if straightforward, abort and inform user if complex. Never --force unless asked.

  5. Verifygit status + git log --oneline -1.

Rules

  • Subject line under 72 characters, lowercase after colon, imperative mood
  • No Co-Authored-By, no AI/Claude attribution, no "as requested" phrasing
  • Write as if a human developer wrote it
  • Don't amend previous commits unless asked
  • Don't commit files you didn't touch
  • Don't force push unless asked
