The Founders Foyer — AI Product Skills

A collection of practitioner-grade AI product skills derived from insights shared by top founders and operators.

The Founders Foyer — AI Product Skills

Practitioner-grade skills for 43+ AI coding agents — distilled from deep podcast conversations with world-class founders and operators on The Founders Foyer.

These aren't surface-level tips. Each skill is a complete thinking framework — the kind of nuanced, experience-backed methodology you'd get from hiring these people as advisors.

The Skills

1. Positioning Autopsy

"Why does everything feel so hard?" → Your positioning is broken.

What would happen if you didn't exist? Most founders position against competitors. This skill forces you to start from the status quo — spreadsheets, interns, "do nothing." Then builds upward through April Dunford's 5-component sequential framework, layers on Andy Raskin's strategic narrative, and validates with Emily Tate's PMF lens.

2. Growth Loop Diagnostics

"Why aren't we growing?" → You're optimizing the wrong metric.

Not traffic, not signups — the moment the user receives value. Diagnoses which of 4 sustainable loops fits your product, flags when paid marketing is your only channel (death spiral), and applies the Pinterest lesson: 3 new products = zero growth impact; a 2-day conversion test = 50% lift.

3. Behavioral Product Design

"Why don't users do what we expect?" → You designed for rational humans.

Replaces "let's interview 5 users" with behavioral science. Maps every real-world step a person takes to reach a behavior you want to change — including steps outside your product. If you're designing for "increase engagement," you haven't defined a behavior yet.

4. Rigorous Thinking Coach

"Why does our strategy feel hand-wavy?" → You haven't decomposed it.

Takes any vague strategy and decomposes it into super specific hows until every step is actionable. Catches lazy thinking where the "solution" is just the problem restated. Pairs Wes Kao's strategy decomposition with Ami Vora's decision-making frameworks from 15 years leading product at Meta.

5. Vibe-to-Ship Coach

"Why haven't we shipped yet?" → You're over-planning, under-building.

The anti-planning skill. Step-by-step methodology for going from messy idea to working prototype using AI coding tools. Includes tool selection (Bolt vs. Lovable vs. Replit vs. Cursor), the "don't write any code" debugging method, and the frontend-first mock data strategy.

6. AI Teammate Coach

"How do I actually use AI beyond ChatGPT?" → Think workflows, not chat.

95% of the time you want a workflow, not an agent. Walks you through auditing your work for automation, choosing the right pattern (periodic digest, event prep, external trigger, follow-up, data enrichment), and iterating on prompts until the output matches your taste.
