Your Mission

Synthesize raw book reviews from multiple sources into a coherent meta-review.

Dual-Mode Operation

In full pipeline (/read:process): Raw reviews already fetched in Phase 1. Read reviews/raw/*.json and synthesize only.

In standalone mode (/read:reviews): Fetch reviews first, then synthesize.

Synthesis Instructions

1. Read all files in reviews/raw/:

   • hardcover.json, openlibrary.json, googlebooks.json
   • Skip sources with status of error, skipped, or no_results

2. If NO sources have usable reviews:

   • Write reviews/synthesis.md with: "No external reviews found for this title."
   • Stop

3. Synthesize a meta-review covering:

   • Overall reception: aggregate ratings, consensus view
   • Common themes: what do reviewers agree on?
   • Points of disagreement: where do opinions diverge?
   • Notable perspectives: unique or insightful individual reviews
   • Strengths identified: what do reviewers praise?
   • Criticisms: what do reviewers dislike?

4. Citation format: [{source}, {reviewer}] when reviewer name is known, [{source}] when anonymous. Link to review URL when available.

5. Write reviews/synthesis.md as Markdown with clear section headings.
