All ADR files go in docs/decisions/.
Rules
- New ADR: Determine the next sequence number by scanning existing files in
docs/decisions/ - Update ADR: When updating an existing ADR, preserve the sequence number and update the relevant sections
- Supersede: When a new decision supersedes an old one, update the old ADR's status to "superseded" and link to the new one
- Date: Always use today's date in YYYY-MM-DD format
- Status: New ADRs default to "proposed" unless the decision is already implemented, then use "accepted"
- Language: Write in the same language the user has been using in the session (Korean if Korean, English if English, etc.)
When Updating Existing ADRs
- Read the existing file first
- Only modify the sections that need updating
- Add a note in "More Information" about what changed and why
- If the status changes, update the frontmatter
